Commercial Passages

Team: Sebastian Escobar, Paula Velandia, Sebastian Gonzalez

This project takes place in the historic and international center of the city of Bogota, with the theme "Urban renewal and mobility." In the first instance, a metropolitan-scale analysis of the sector is carried out since it is the point of the city where most public-administrative entities, companies, and services are located, which acquires a very important meaning within the urban network as a node of concentration.

On the other hand, from an urban analysis, it can be observed that there are a large number of universities, companies, and commerce that attract a large amount of floating population every day. However, this makes the sector only have activities during the day, while at night it is completely alone and acquires a sense of insecurity for people, which is why it is seen that within the renovation plans for the center, the creation of housing is one of the fundamental pillars to give continuous use to the sector, a fact that can already be seen with the construction of buildings such as BD Bacata and City U.

Finally, it is decided to carry out an urban intervention in the area between 19th Street, Jimenez Avenue, 10th Street, and 13th Street. This is based on the analysis previously made, in conjunction with an analysis carried out only for this sector, in order to observe the dynamics that make up this place and how it is being transformed.
